All,

I am looking for a Usenet newsgroup reader for the Nokia 770. Has anyone had success with using one with the 770? I hope I haven't overlooked this capability if it is already available.

Pine has apparently been ported. I say apparently because I've not been able to install it :(

Anyone else had any luck?

Andy,

Thanks for your reply. I tried to download Pine but I did not have enough memory on my memory card. Were you unsuccessful in getting it to work or were you not able to download it?

Would you be interested in a quick port of tin?

I haven't used tin in years but I seem to recall it met all of my needs so yes that would be of interest to me, thanks. :D

I've similarly had no luck with the pine port. While I appreciate all the effort people have already put in to porting apps, I'm really waiting for an offline newsreader (slrn maybe?). When I'm online I can ssh to freeshell.org and use pine for usenet. (No, it's not ideal, but it does work (for very small values of work).)

If anyone is looking for a shell account, I can reccommend freeshell.org (aka sdf.lonestar.org) and silenceisdefeat.org.
