In an effort to make it a little easier to get information on the device, I thought a thread dedicated solely to links would be a useful tool; especially for those that don't have the time to sift through the growing number of threads.

I'll start.

Here's a link of a papervision3D (3D in flash9) comparing the size of an N810, an iPhone, a BlackBerry of some sort, and the ubiquitous Bicycle playing cards. Simply drag the mouse around to see the 'devices' from different angles. This was inspired by the site sizeasy.com (http://www.sizeasy.com) but is more versatile. Take a look:

http://johndyer.name/lab/pv3d/sizer/

I wonder how well this (and papervision3D) run on the N8xx Internet Tablets?

Enjoy and contribute!

The sea is a capricious mistress....

Thoughtfix has been kind enough to post an updated video of flash video performance in youtube on his blog at tabletblog.com (http://tabletblog.com). This video shows the "feist 1 2 3 4" apple ad, consisting of tens of choreographed dancers and a very active camera. Suffice to say that the performance is quite good especially considering it has been taken through the youtube ringer twice before hitting the backs of your eyes.

Feist said eyes.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vENl3fpJXL4&eurl=http://tabletblog.com/

There were also four exported text files on tabletblog.com (http://tabletblog.com) with various linux system information.

n810 dmesg.txt (http://thoughtfix.com/tabletblog/dmesg.txt)
n810 cpuinfo.txt (http://thoughtfix.com/tabletblog/cpuinfo.txt)

Thanks Thoughtfix. I eagerly wait for more!

He's posted a handful of entries on his blog, tabletblog.com (http://tabletblog.com). For the full experience I recommend you visit the blog (http://thoughtfix.com). However, I've included jumps to some of the entries below for you to peek at:

tabletblog.com - Turbo Edition: N810 on Tour - At the Cafe' (http://tabletblog.com/2007/10/n810-on-tour-at-cafe.html)

Though the price is high, it's good news for N810 users, who can use micro SD, mini SD, but nothing larger.

Here's to hoping someone jams two of these chips into a single mini SD body. I can live with 8GB, but much more comfortably with 16.

For those needing a little more storage on the N810, you're in luck. The long promised microSD's from sandisk have officially shipped and will only cost ~$139 at the register. Engadget has the full scoop, so jump to the article:

Sandisk starts shipping 8gb microSDHC and m2 cards (http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/29/sandisk-starts-shipping-8gb-microsdhc-and-m2-cards/)

Are you excited? The Canola 2 teaser site is online! Get a flash presentation of how Canola 2 is going to look and feel on every generation of Internet Tablet (Nokia 770, N800, and N810) a mere 9 days from this post.

Go here to view the site: http://openbossa.indt.org.br/canola/index2.html

The original Blog post announcing this site is here: http://www.marceloeduardo.com/blog/design/user-interface-design/canola2-beta-teaser-site-online

Additionally, you can also take a look at the Canola Picture Viewer details by clicking here (http://www.marceloeduardo.com/blog/design/graphical-design/canola-20-design-process-the-photo-viewer).

I'm extremely impressed with the Canola team. They have created a great product keeping in mind the user-experience rather than just focussing on the products functions. The result is a very slick and user-friendly media tool that users can understand with little problem. I also LOVE the website, it's stylish and comprehensive so you don't have to go searching through changelogs to figure out what the software does. I wish more software were designed in this fasion. Kudos, chaps!

What should you get this holiday season? Wired thinks that it should be a Nokia N810 Internet Tablet. Currently, the latest N-Series device placed second on the Wired list of top 10 Gifts for the season.

What's number one, you ask? Find out using the link above.

Ars Techica has reviewed the N810. Though I haven't read it myself, ars reviews tend to be quite good. It's worth a read:

Got PIM? From the site:

Pimlico is a suite of lightweight Personal Information Management (PIM) applications designed primarily for handheld and mobile devices.

It seems as if the N800 version is available, so a OS2008 release shouldn't be far behind.

Check it out!

Potential "case" for N810 until something custom is designed:

Retail, this did seem pricey, I got mine in a clearance bin at my local store, $22. Which tends to mean it won't be on the shelves everywhere. I wonder what it was originally designed for...I'm pretty sure it pre-dated the n810.

As of today it's still snug and holding up tough.

I wrote a first impressing blog post which tries to be a review:
N810 Handheld Computer (http://www.spacezone.de/blog/pivot/entry.php?id=58&w=en)

I bought the N810 to replace my Zaurus. Although the keyboard is not as good as on the Z, I believe the Internet Tablet won't let me down.

A word of caution - before getting too excited about the N810. Look at all the posts regarding problems with it. I for one cannot install a single application that all the videos and literature and links say it's supposed to. I can't install the camera application, not FM radio, not Skype, not anything. I just bought this N810 and have upgraded to the latest OS, but it simply does not do what it was advertised to do.
Unless someone can help me with this, anyone who wants it can have it. It's junk at this point.

there may be a problem with your individual device; others don't seem to be having the problems you are, and the same OS also runs fine on the n800.

have you added any repositories yourself, after upgrading the OS?

N810 doesn't have the FM Radio tuner module in it.
