Sounds really sweet on my PC sound system. I am :) big time.

You'll have to wait; I'm busy ripping my Who, Yes, Patti Smith and Zeppelin vynil collection.
You know, those pops, cracks and sizzles really make you want to hang back and smo^H^H^H relax. ;):p:)

The Who! The Who! The Who! The Who!
Thoroughly enjoying the new Eagles album right now. I may only be 23, but I was raised on proper music, damnit. :)
OT: Why did they put "The Seeker" in Guitar Hero 3? Why not, well, any other Who song? Like, perhaps, Substitute?

Zep rules, hopefully they'll do a world wide tour rather then just the London gig. Going to see Van Halen tomorrow night with Diamond Dave Lee Roth back in the group!!!

Yea, but they have Jabba the Hut as their basest.

I never go to these things. I like to remember my music the way it was played way back then, rather than go see a bunch of propped-up animatronics mummies trying to push back the alzheimer long enough to remember what group they were in exactly.

There was nothing wrong with the 8 Track! I fondly remember running at least the length of the hallway before the tape would break! :D I was 3 or 4 when the "new" cassette tape players came out.

Anyone surprised?
LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- The Eagles beat Britney Spears for the top spot on the Billboard 200 Top Albums chart this week.
The band's new album "Long Road Out of Eden" debuted at No. 1 on the chart by selling 711,000 copies during its first week of release, Billboard.com reported Tuesday.
Spears' album "Blackout" sold 290,000 copies.
The Eagles' first album in 28 years landed on top after Billboard revised a policy which considers albums sales even when they're only sold exclusively by one retailer.
Billboard changed its policy after Wal-Mart, which had exclusive rights to sell the Eagles album in its stores and on its Web site, agreed to release its sales numbers, Geoff Mayfield, Billboard's director of charts said.
EDIT: part of that is inaccurate-- this is not their first album in 28 years.

Hard to single any out, but I especially like:
No more walks in the wood
Busy being fabulous
I don't want to hear any more
Waiting in the weeds (VERY cool song IMO)
No more cloudy days
Long road out of Eden
Last good time in town

Me. I've listened to it -- a bit. Too much Take It Easy, not enough Hotel California.

I can live with that. The arrangements and harmonies are striking.

I might torrent it some day in the distant future (hypothetically obviously :D), just for the sake of keeping my discography complete, but it's not worth my money AFAIAC.
A few of the songs have substance and sort of grow on you after several hearings, but on the whole this is certainly no "Hotel California" nor "Desperado".
The voices, talent and know-how are still there ; the inspiration, less so. IMHO.

Hmm. Odd I see plenty of inspiration in the social and environmental causes being championed. Maybe you're confusing energy with inspiration? :p
Personally I don't begrudge a bunch of 50 and 60 year old guys doing the "Take it Easy" style on a 20-song disk. I sure wasn't expecting "Life in the Fast Lane", and just glad they're not "Already Gone". ;)
