Oh so very OT:

The dual SD slots of the N800 means it'll be a looooong time before it gathers much dust for me.

The N800 -might- get to live in the car as a media center, though.

Actually, I'm sending off my N800 to live with a friend in the US who will be paying for the discounted N810. That way, we both get a tablet for only $100 or whatever it is.

EDIT: looks like he's backing out for the EEE. That's fine. I can always have two tablets around. ;)

e-mail was sent from "noreply@maemo.org" and looks really suspicious (lots of HTML, doesn't render right in GMail at least) --- check your spam box?

Last time they did different waves of notification for different countries, too.

Ok then it would be good if everybody writes from wher he is, when recieving an email.

I've been singing "Spider pork" since I've read the maemo.org email :-D
Wanted to share with someone other then my-looking-weirdly-at-me girlfriend

Can't wait to get my hands on my N810!!!

This time I'll do something.. I haven't had time (and I had no SDK on my Mac to work with) to do much with the N800, but I promise (to myself at least :p) I'll do more this time!

Yep, checked the spam folder twice. About to check it again just in case though. It would be great if the spam filters didn't see this very important email as spam too. It would also be nice if there was a list of winners posted somewhere on the maemo.org site.

The HTML table is a Midgard error report and stack dump. It seems the mail was meant to include (or be generated by) some Web page that failed.

I wonder if they made good on the promise to provide BT connectivity to my iDEN phones with the new OS. >> https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1095

If not, the N810 would be as useless to me as the N800 has been in that regard.

A workaround for your dial up string problem - the string is saved in gconf, so you can write any string there, and then use gconf-editor, gconftool, or a text editor on the file
/var/lib/gconf/system/osso/connectivity/IAP/<connection name>/%gconf.xml
to change it (the key dun_phonenumber).

To make this post on-topic for this thread - I also got a positive response. Now I only need to find someone in US to buy it for me.

Been there since month 1. I recieved some great help from some good members but the string can not be saved.... if you have the answer, please add it to this thread >> http://www.internettablettalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4527

CONGRATULATION's to all recipients!

Well you are confusing me

I did say had, and if you did not have an n810 in hand, you were running 2008OS on n800 over two weeks ago???:D

How did you do the testing of my compiled tools? CPUFREQ??

OK, just went back and reread your post in the Overclocking thread, I thought you had an n810 in hand. If you had 2008OS for n800 in hand two weeks ago, I would have been begging you in PM to hook me up for the past two weeks:eek:

nothing, zip, nada. not too suprised (still dissapointed though). it still isn't possible to get an n800 here in new zealand, if you ring nokia they claim never to have heard of it!

so the chances of nokia giving us a voucher for a discount in a territory the don't even sell into? squat methinks.

ah well just as well i love my n800, have a gps and bt keyboard and am so skint i couldn't by an n810 anyway.

enjoy them guys and don't forget to build them nice new apps top cater for those of us not able to get the n810.
