On my 810 the battery life indicator seems flaky, it will show 1 hour left, then I set it down for a bit and it will show 3 hours left.
Has anyone started collecting stats on this?
And if so what's the life with light usage etc.

All I can say, without having a N810, is that it changes the speed of the CPU dynamically, so that even moderate usage will decrease the expected (this is the key word) battery life noticably. AFAICT, the battery indicator estimates the remaining battery life in hours based on the charge left and assuming constant usage at the current level.
Having said that, the battery meter reports two figures, the second of which assumes no usage (i.e., the N8x0 just lying on the desk, inert).

I REALLY wish that they'd include a %full on all battery status pop-ups. Even when it's charging. It's really annoying to not be able to ask "how full is my battery" when charging (you can't look at the little lights, because they're flashing due to charging, and the pop-up just says "charging" ... USELESS).

And, when you're not charging: knowing how many estimated hours are available is _nice_, even great. But it's no where near being a substitute for %full. Looking at the icon for a 4 step indication is _ok_, but it's still not an excuse for not including an actual %full indication in the pop-up.

I filed an enhancement bug about it, but haven't heard anything in response.

Such an easy thing to fix, heck, such an easy thing for any usability expert to have included from day 1. If I were on the software team, I'd be embarrassed that this got overlooked.

I've had the n810 for about 2 days now, and already had to charge it from an empty battery. I've been using it non stop

The battery came charged.

I like watching videos & reading ebooks while flying. Has anyone tried seeing how long the battery lasts when using the screen but not wifi?

I was just out today for 10+ hours walking arround window shoping. No wireless but I did have GPS on. I was using the screen on and off...I wasn't glued to the screen while shopping. But usualy after I left a store i would tap it to wake the screen up and use the map application to see where I was. I didn't "lock" the screen while I put it in my coat pocket so it was probably being woke up while in my pocket the whole time anyways.

It was a full charge in the morning. By the time I got back it was giving me low battery warnings.

And as of this post it's now in critical battery warning, it's super dim but it's still on. I haven't used it much at all since I got home. But once I got home, it connected to my wireless and was recieveing RSS feed and IM's I wasn't answering.
