{EDIT: The one click installer found in the above link takes you to the quick notes install instead...
Let's hope this is just a mistake and not part of vaster, more devious conspiracy. :p }

Apps available for OS2008 on Maemo org jumped from just 26 to 39 this evening...

Egg Timer, Kilikali, and Quick Notes to name a few.

Sorry for digging up an old thread, but is there any hope to see this nice app also on Maemo 5? :)

I'm guessing there are other count down apps available or looking to be available.

I already took over maintainership of Quicknotes and should have it in extras-testing soon.. Adding Egg Timer on to that might not be too bad. The main hassle is I'm trying to move on to the One Ring.

Look around, see if there is an alternative. If not, PM me. about this.

Cool...
It's also a time marker for the amount of apps that were available 2 weeks after OS2008 was released. Interestingly, 26 apps were what was available at time of release just as there are now for Maemo5.
I'm thinkin' with all the positive energy surrounding this release, in two weeks time there will be a boat load more apps available.

For a good stop watch and count down timer download this SWF file and save it to your device. If things haven't changed, you should still be able to open the file from "File Manager" in the browser with no need of a connection. >> http://www.online-stopwatch.com/full-screen-stopwatch/

Anyone seen a chess timer for maemo?
For instance using the screen in portrait mode, divided in half with mirrored stop and start timer buttons (large) on easpch side facing each player.

Obviously this is for when playing on a physical board.

Or if there's a swf out there that anyone have come across that would fit on a N810 screen with finger-friendly buttons.

Ok, I'll take a look at that. Thanks!

And you're right, there is so much going on at the moment, that I'm sure we will one day also see a great timer with more functionalities than flash app can offer... :) And if not, maybe I then get back to epage (thanks for your quick answer btw).

Maemo community really seems to be as great as I've heard. Heck, maybe I should finally expand my territory and learn some programming too! :D

Back in the day sonny... :D

3 years ago there really wasn't any where to go for tablet specific info with the exception of Internet Tablet Talk, the genesis of this forum.
There were a few patient members like TA-t3 (http://talk.maemo.org/member.php?u=4974) and sebastian.linux (http://talk.maemo.org/member.php?u=5334) who helped kick me out of my comfy Windows nest and into the real world of the command line.

Now ForumNokia that has an excellent e-learning series you can download called Get Started with Maemo 5 >> http://www.forum.nokia.com/info/sw.nokia.com/id/0ea5ec64-2d35-4363-94c0-dd2560c6524b/Get_started_with_Maemo_5.html

This^ is a good thing. :)
