I just downloaded and installed the VNC viewer on my 770.

What is the best VNC software to use on my home computer though? I was about to install RealVNC but the free edition doesn't seem to have any encryption. Makes me think it is not very secure.

I could upgrade to the paid version for $30.00, but thought I would see if there is something good out there that is free.

Thanks

Encryption is done by the router software for traffic between nodes in the network, as I understand it. The VNC software doesn’t need to do that.

UltraVNC is most likely the best available for Windows.

IMO ultravnc is the best for a windows host because of it's driver pluging which makes it impressivly fast. if you use ultravnc as the client from windows too it also supports encryption, but from linux it does not. the core vnc's official response on encryption is that it's better left to tools line IPSec or stunnel, neither of which are /that/ hard to setup.
