http://penguinbait.com/x11vnc-0.9.2.deb
Here is the cut and paste from deb description:
This will give you x11vnc 0.9.2 and xrdp.
xrdp will allow you to connect to your tablet via rdestop,
using vnc. You will also be able to just use vnc.
These services will start on boot, and always run,
they use very little resources if not in use.
This version contains vncpasswd to change your password.
This is a command line tool run in xterm as user user.
The default vnc password for user is rootme.
There is also a xvncviewer, but no icon, run in xterm.
This is integrated into KDE, but I realize many people dont run KDE, so I thought I would port a standalone version and share...
Thoughts, Questions, ??

Hmmm I may try this once it gets into a repository -- I don't always have time to follow-up on updates and that's the whole point of the Application Manager.... especially now that the repos are saved as a part of Backup.
Speaking of which, does anyone know of an IP address home applet? I like apps like these but it still blows my mind that the IP address is *buried* under a menu option in the Connection Manager!
Hi, thanks for it, vnc works great and the xrdp is cool too, but it works exactly same as http://mike.saunby.googlepages.com/x11vncfornokia7702, after i connect and disconnect, vnc server stops and i cant connect anymore

Can you please verify this again. X11vnc is run with -loop so once you disconnect it should allow you connect again. NOTE this may take a few seconds before you can connect again, but not more than 10 seconds?
Anyone else?? can anyone else verify?

Well, I guess you will not be trying it, unless someone else decides to put it in the repository. It took me over 2 years to break down and create a deb (I am a RedHat Die Hard), I doubt highly I will be putting anything in the repo anytime soon..

I can confirm working for two consecutive times from OS2007HE (the only thing x11vnc needs to start is libXdamage.so.1, the one from chinook is working okay) :)
Naah, spoke too soon - the buttons on the left are not working... In fact looks like the whole interactive screen area is somehow smaller :) maybe this has something to do with tha -ncache option in x11vnc i'm running or maybe the libXdamage lib is the problem :)

Yes this was built for 2008, I tried to include libxdamage, but it wont install on 2008 and overwrite the other versions.
Yeah my buttons never worked in VNC, the menus work, but the menu launch does not.

My point was - it connects normally after disconnect :)
Hmm, this is strange about the menus, i remember them working in the other x11vnc?

Yeah, if you reconnect real fast it can fail
Really my menus never worked in vnc, I used to use the other version. Anyone else, did your menus work in VNC?

I tried it on my N800 (OS2008 beta) and it works. I'm having a problem with the menu buttons too. Only the middle ("Communications") menu button works for me. The menus work fine, but not the buttons to get them open. Strange.
Thanks penguinbait! This is a nice addition to my N800. I think it now does everything my old Sharp Zaurus SL-5500 could do, and much more! Now I just need to get OS2008 cloned to an SD card so that I can try KDE, but that's another thread...

The menu buttons are an issue with the other X11vnc too. There are some F-key mappings that worked though, here:

In OS2007 none of the menu icons worked. In OS2008 the Communications icon seems to work.
