Changing default icon size

I have just updated my Nokia N800 to OS2008 and had a somewhat simple question...or so I hope so. When you click the icons on the left, it pulls up a menu of all the available programs/links/etc. However, they "icons" are so large, I can only display about 4 on the screen without scrolling. Is there anyway to decrease the size of these things so I can fit more on a screen without having to scroll.

As an example, when I click on the globe to open the web browser, only 5 links/options show up, but I would like to show more if possible.

I have been searching around on the forum and the device itself, but can't seem to find an option. Any help with this would be grateful. Thank you in advance.

I would like to change RSS reader text size at desktop and also there is empty lines between text lines. So There doesnt fit lot information.

Wonder if its possible, OS2007 version could show more lines.

I also would like to reduce the size of these "buttons". I don't use my fingers often on the my n800 so the bigger size is just a waste of screen real estate for me.
