I find that my 770 freezes whenever I plug in or remove my headphones, and then reboots a few seconds later. Has anyone else had the same experience?
Also, I tried reporting this on the Nokia support site, but the final "send email" page gave me an error. Does anyone know a way to report this problem to Nokia?
Thanks, Neil

Are you plugging headphones in when an audio application is active or not, or doesn't it make a difference?
Mine will freeze and reboot if headphones are plugged in when audio is playing, but it's fine otherwise. I suspect it's a "feature" - perhaps to stop users damaging their ears. Well, perhaps not.

Good question. I just checked: with no obvious audio applications open, it didn't freeze when I removed the headphones, but it still did freeze when I plugged them back in again.
Even with "no obvious audio applications open", though, note that there is still audio: the clicks that are generated whenever the stylus touches the screen.

After it reboots, if I plug and unplug the headphone jack, after a few seconds, it reboots. I don't see much on this, so I guess my unit is defective. Anyone else have this? I don't want to bring in for a replacement if they all do this. Thanks

I've found that muting all sound (by clicking on the volume control and then on the volume control icon in the dialog that pops up) helps for me. Since I've been doing this, I haven't had a headphone reboot at all.

I turned off the system alerts (the other two were already disabled), and that seems to work. Might this be a better than than muting all, since it retains the headphone sound?
Still strange to have to do this.

Yes, absolutely, but I think these workarounds are better than trying our luck with taking the 770 back to some Nokia service centre.
