It's just about impossible to beat even at the easiest level. Or maybe I just suck more than the US foreign policy. No seriously I thought I was pretty good at chess, haven't managed to pwn this one even once :(

I've never beaten the computer. Before I got myself a n800, I assumed I was rather good at chess. Glad to see I'm not the only one :D
The marbles game is also way to difficult IMO..

Playing humans is much more fun. That's why eboard needs to be updated for os2008. Or Xboard.

I already know I'm completely rubbish.
But can someone port a version that I should be able to beat once I'm borderline compitent.
It's kind of demotivating knowing I'll have to be a grand master before I have any hope of winning even on easy level...

Agree with you all, everyone in my families tried beating it on Easiest but its impossible, 3/4 are extremely good at it too.

So would someone bother and make a bug report?
Amazing how **** like this can be found from a consumer product..

I noticed this too so I actuallly did an experiment by pitting it against other machines. The game froze on the last move the computer could make beffore checkmate was imminent. :(
Quite literally will not let you win.

Sounds to me that when a checkmate aproach the AI enters and endless loop trying to find a non existent "next move". It's worth a bug. :)

Unfortunately the Chess game engine is not done by us, it is an open source engine, and there wasn't really any way for us to make it dumber. (Well, any way within the confines of how much work can be put towards a chess game.) I did file a bug about this years ago. :)
This like several other (IMO) completely useless games are not installed and thus ?can't be uninstalled? :-(.
I keep meaning to go find those wastes of space and remove them, would have been nice if they were actually installed to facilitate that, but I suppose we were supposed to be so in awe of them that we couldn't possibly want to do that </sarc>.
it is an open source engine,
Which engine are you using?
