just come across this.
http://ftp.debian-ports.org/debian/pool-armel/main/

Does that do anything for us?
OS2005, 6, 7 and 8 are all armel, aren't they?
And none of them compatible with each other?
If the processor is the same and there is no library versioning hiccup, binaries for one will work on the other. The armv6l stuff I'm using for an embedded system at work will run unchanged on the n810. But I think they built a fedora or redhat distribution.
Some zaurus binaries I tried failed, but it may be a different processor.

Remember OS 2005 on the 770? It was arm instead of armel and you coud actually install some stuff from the debian arm repo. Now it might work again, now that debian caught up supporting armel.

So they should work, but they just won't be Hildonized?
That's moot under KDE anyway.
Cool, have to poke around in there.

The biggest Problem of this reposority are the dependencies. A few console programs work without breaking the dependencies.
However, the whole armel port now works on the 770.
N800 port should follow soon.
