From what I understand, this little stand will be included in the sales package. It's a little 2-peiice stand that slides together, and can also "snap" together to make it more compact when traveling.

I was wondering if any BT keyboard will pair and work properly with the Nokia 770. Here are some (other) BT keyboards:

Unfortunately I do not have others to try just yet. Since this is the only KB I have tried, I am not sure if this is normal... but it didn't require any "pairing" in normal terms... it simply... connected... I just turn on the keyboard, make sure the light is flashing, and then hit the Connect option from the plug in, and it simply connected... no pairing prompts or anything else. I will see if I can find the nearest store here with more BT KB's and see if I can get them working together.

I am not sure if this is normal... but it didn't require any "pairing" in normal terms... it simply... connected... Fermunky and I are limited to only Nokia SU-8W at the moment. The number of 770's in the area will have no effect considering it's the 770 itself which initiates the connection (The keyboard knows which 770 is asking to connect).

If we can get a second one in-hand we'll try it and follow up with you guys.

Chiming in on multiple 770's... the 770 does not broadcast it's BT visibility... 1 770 cannot find other 770's, just as cell phones and computers do not find the 770. Since there is only 1 keyboard where I am at, I cannot tell you what happens with multiple keyboards... maybe the plugin has it written in there to pop up a list of which are available...?

I just found out that the Freedom input BT Keyboard is nog working, because is needs special drivers :-(.

I haven't had any luck with my Apple wireless keyboard, I always get a 'Bluetooth Connection Failed' message. I can see the keyboard via 'hcitool scan' though so I suppose that means it's ready and waiting...

I know that the Freedom keyboard does not support the HID profile, only serial transfer. It requires special drivers and, from experience, the (new) windows PC driver does not work on my pc.

My advice: avoid It like the plague. It completely contradicts the BT philosophy of the Universal Peripheral. An extra row of number keys can never compensate for that.

Is it possible to use a BT keyboard at the same time as a BT data connection (i.e. through a phone)? Or will the BT keyboard only work for WiFi connections (or no data connection)?

As I understand from this thread that the Think Outside BT keyboard works with 770, I ordered a promotion from Expansis.com (UK) of a TO BT keyboard and Mini BT mouse for a total of 73GBP (inc. VAT.) Ex VAT it appears that the deal is 38GBP for the keyboard and 20GBP for the mouse; seems a heck of a lot cheaper than any other BT KB's out there. I've no idea if the mouse is currently supported on the 770, but what the hell. Delivered within 24 hours. Now I'm only waiting for my 770.

I just got my 770 at CompUSA tonight along with a Stowaway keyboard. I finally got the BT keyboard driver installed and it sort of works, but there are some issues.

In particular, if I press any of the function keys (which are necessary to access any of the number keys), it prints "=". This makes the keyboard close to unusable, as you have to go back and delete all of the equals signs every time you try to type any characters that require a function key.

Has anybody else had this problem, or figured out a way around it?

i tried my apple bt keyboard and it doesn't work either, i read on apple's website that the keyboard only supports mac os 10.2.6 and higher and no support for other operating systems that is probably why it doesn't work

I've got a freedom mini with that driver and most of the time, it works fine. I've noticed that inside some webforms, the shifted chars and punctation don't work.

A good example is in blogger. You can't use any orange keys inside the add text to your post window. They just type a weird square.

Returned the Nokia BT keyboard, bought a Think Outside Stowaway, and the only issue I've had with is the inablilty to enter numbers and symbols into large text entry forms in web pages. Single line text, like for Google, no problem, but for our Exchange server email, its a bit problematic, but I can live with it. Ergonomically, the Think Outside keyboard is much better for me, with larger keys, longer key travel, and locks into place. Also, the supplied removable stand will support the 770, while the Nokia would not. Additionally, the Think Outside keyboard has a fully supported driver for my Treo 650, while the Nokia while it worked mostly, was somewhat problematic also in web text areas.

Where did you buy you keyboard fermunky? 150 on nokia web site is kinda steep for me.
