This is an alternative, but it may not work in some cases. Help us find the problem, providing everything you can before using it : what repositories you have, what applications you had prior to canola..etc. This will really help us to nail this once for all.

Hi Everyone,

Specially for those that I asked to wait a little bit for the fix, it's already on the extras repository.

We tried to replicate the problem as much as possible and the fix was able to correct the mistake in all cases. So please test it, and help us improve it.

As said, if this doesn't help you will need to do by hand and in the last resort flash your firmware. Of course we don't want you to do that.. so we also can help remotely connecting to the device in extremes cases.

open the application installer, installable applications :

canola2-cleanup

If you don't have it there, is because you don't have the maemo extra repositories.

Thanks Marcelo. This is a beautiful team you got there.

Worked like a charm. Now after the clean-up, I am able to install Canola and Canola Tuning from the Application manager as before.
Initially it had failed and I had to do the command line install.
Now its back to the Apllication Manager magic.

Cool. You guys rock !

OK, I take back some of the cool kudos :-)

I seem to have lost the podcast entries from the Audio, podcast settings, after doing the reinstall of Canola again after the Cleanup.
The normal Audio files are still there, so how come the podcasts are cleaned up ?

Is there a way to define a storage location for the Podcast entries, so that on future cleanups it also wont get deleted ?

But thanks nevertheless for the cleanup and clean install of Canola.

Hi Nil,

Sorry for that, we don't have a backup system right now, but we are planning to integrate one to help this issues.

The normal audios are scanned in the first run, that's why they are there and not the podcasts (just urls in the database)

But we will find a way of solving this in the simplest way possible
