I'm seeing Beta 5 on the update menu. Is this safe to install already? Where's the change log? Oh, what happened to Beta4?

Ehehe . . . search first, Reggie. :p :D

It's true, the Canola2-Beta5 is official, if you had problems to update use the Canola2-Cleanup and re-install Canola.

P.s: We jump the Beta4 (Problems with the Build process)

I can't install the new Canola in IT OS 2007...it says that libflac8 is a missing library. The only libflac8 that I could find was for IT OS 2008 and wouldn't install on IT OS 2007....help!

I'm kinda upset the bluetheme hasn't appeared. I thought it would in "the next update"

Hi sommer : not yet, please take a look at the release notes in the other thread,
this is a bug fix needed update, before the big one : /

Sorry for not "adding" relevant feature, but this is a step for it for sure...

Tmilr87, you have the latest canola-cleanup and still not able?
Can you send us the log file from the application manager, and the list of repositories you have on it?

Log file as follows:

Hildon-application-manager 2.0.2
W: Couldn't stat source package list http://repository.maemo.org chinook/free Packages(var/lib/apt/lists/repository.maemo.org_extra_dists-chinook_free_binary-armel_Packages) - stat (2 No such file or directory)
W: Couldn't stat source package list http://repository.maemo.org chinook/non-free Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/repository.maemo.org_extra_dists_chinook_non-free_binary-armel_Packages) - stat (2 No such file or directory)
W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems

This is the info in the log file. I am some what of a newbie so not sure how to run the apt-get update. Please advise and thanks for the help.

Hi Qwerty, sorry for that :) it's my fault, I authorized some small changes on the blue theme now we need to change all the themes, but this will give more freedoms once we publish how to make themes for canola.

As a retreat, We will not only launch the blue theme, but there's another "simple" theme on the making, that will be used as guideline with different colors released for download on the website.

I will update this soon with the screenshots :)

UPDATE: the "Simple" theme that is coming with the blue theme :
(actually it will be available in several colors on the website so here an example) - The goal was to make it so simple, that you could actually use a picture or file of yours as the background, but we are not quite there yet :)

The purpose of this theme is really to be the guideline for theme makers, and we are gathering all the info needed to provide.

Still, miguel has done a nice job on this one, and I really like it's simplicity (I think I have looked too much to the green one)

hope you guys enjoy it also :)

I don't mind :). Shows you make a lot of effort to produce a high quality app :)

I just wanted to try the blue theme because I've never owned a NiT until recently and I never got to try Canola 1 and I thought Canola 1 looked great.

I love all the themes! :), great artwork.

Thank you for the reply.

Hi Again Faheem!

I'm very glad that you like, I also really like the work of the team. The guys just love to do the themes, actually they are doing those "in between" their "real" projects :) like I'm borrowing some of their talents : )

So the blue theme is not only coming but with friends: )

ideas that we discussed: to have this simple theme as "transparent" and you can set color of everything (a primary hue) and of course maybe a photo as background :)

Who knows :)
