Charles Dale Easter
Born Feb 6, 1950
Died Feb 28, 2008

I wanted to introduce a friend of mine "Chuck", never Charley
Chuck was diagnosed with Dystonia at age 7, he had brain surgery in the early 60's. His parents were told he would not make it to become an adult. He proved them all wrong

I met Chuck 20 years ago, when I was 16, he used to buy beer for me :)

In the past few years I had spent quite a bit of time with Chuck, along with my family, he loved playing with my kids. Chuck was a big kid himself, being physically handicapped his entire life, he never quite grew up. This is what made Chuck so loveable, like a child he loved everyone with his huge heart. He could not walk very well, he often fell over leading with his elbow, which was often broken. He had plenty of scars from falling over. Chuck did not drive a car, he rode a bicycle. On a bicycle Chuck could get around the same as anyone else it was a freedom he enjoyed. He had some cool bikes over years. The world is a little bit sadder without Chuck in it anymore. Chuck was 58 years old, he lived off 700$ per month. Though he had very little he spent his life helping people. This is ultimately what became his demise. He allowed a friend of the his family to move in because he had nowhere to stay. This 31 year old man over 6' tall, more than 250lbs beat to death my best friend. He was defenseless.

This loving 58year old physically handicapped man was killed by a coward, and I truly believe he will burn in hell.
Explaining to my children that Chuck has passed was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. I have seen so many senseless things happen in this world, but when it happens to someone you love. All I can say, is I don’t know if I will ever get over this pain.

I am asking for some help. Chuck had no money and his Father who has survived his oldest son also is on a fixed income.
The family is raising money for his headstone, and I am asking anyone interested in helping a family in need to please donate.

Thanks to those who donated. I am removing the donation link now.

God Bless

GRATEFUL DEAD: The motif of a cycle of folk tales which begin with the hero coming upon a group of people ill-treating or refusing to bury the corpse of a man who had died without paying his debts. He gives his last penny, either to pay the man's debts or to give him a decent burial. Within a few hours he meets with a travelling companion who aids him in some impossible task, gets him a fortune or saves his life. The story ends with the companion disclosing himself as the man whose corpse the hero had befriended.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. This is a cruel world sometimes. Remember the good times and thanks for sharing the little glimpse into your life with Chuck.

Truly a sad story. Sometimes it's just a horrifying world we live in.

Hey everybody, I really appreciate the donations and kind words. It has been a rough time for me. My birthday is Feb 28th, and this was without a doubt the worst birthday I ever had. I just have this hole left, and pain, anger and sadness.

Awww Man! I'm soooo sorry for your loss PB!

I unfortunately know that sense of anger, sadness and pain all rolled into one - my stepdad was murdered during a robbery last year. He and his buddy were just walking home from a neighborhood pub in Minneapolis, when 3 teenagers shot them.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Seriously Thanks everyone for the kind words and notes and donations.

PCQ, its the senslessness of it all that makes it very hard to cope. As I am sure you know. He was old, and had all kinds of problems, and If he had passed naturally it would be much easier to accept.

What happened to the thanks buttons? Did my thanking priveliges get revoked??

You certainly wonder about the person behind the eyes of a man who would beat a friend to death.

Brings back memories of those friends and family I've lost over the years.
Time will heal the pain and you have wonderful memories and pictures of your friend.

Mine, and I'm sure many others thoughts are with you on this.
Whatever the outcome... When it is all over, have a beer or two for us; will ya?
