I have downloaded Media Converter from the Maemo.org video encoding web page. I downloaded the Windows verson to my desktop and then installed the program. When I go start-all programs-Media Converter-Media Converter all I get is three folders each labelled Meta-Inf, mediaconverter, and org.
How do I run the program?

haven't' dl'd this yet, and I don't do windows (live nix, live free (actually I joke about being a zealot more than anything else)). What files are listed in the folder mediaconverter. I would think what you're looking for would be there. IF it's an icon, again I think it'd be there.

I found your post after having the same problem. After an hour of searching I found it was missing the JAVA runtime environment.
go to java.com and let it load.
Hitting the Butterfly icon will work as expected after that.
