Finger Keyboard not working on N810

I'm seeing others are having this problem with OS 2008 on the N800, so I'm assuming this is a software problem, not a hardware one.

My N810 finger keyboard won't show no matter how I tap the screen. Some people are sayiung to press harder, if I press any harder I'll crack the screen.

My settings are correct and someone filed a bug with Maemo. How long does something like this take to fix?

dont press harder. Give the screen a fast tap. just like a woodpecker pecks at wood!!!

the speed needed is insane. there got to be a setting for it somewhere...

Oh. SНit. So, that was what it wanted...

not only does it need a fast tap, it needs so over a sizeable surface. a combo i cant reliably pull off :(

fast tap works but this needs adjustments. Or at least add settings to enable each keyboard by choice
