Man...these people are serious about their customer service. I placed my order, and got a phone call within 3 minutes telling me that it would be shipped out today. Total cost of $164....good deal.

speaking of cheap Nokias I found a site that sales returned products and I can get like 6 N810/N800 for round 200-300 dollars. I bet most people returned them because they didn't know how to use them or just didnt' like it

I might get some in a few weeks worst case I loss $300

Benson

And it's "shipped". Serious snappy!

Which means they

A. printed out a fedex label
and
B. threw it in the bin (or will have by the time Fedex gets there...)

Not that it's in a truck on its way home. :(

But still, they seem nice to deal with.

I just received my "shipped" notice as well. They either a). have a ton of people working in their warehouse, b). are not real busy, or c). are seriously focused on getting product out the door.

Maybe they all get to go home for the day as soon as they clear these 20 N800s...

Where was that? Or if I understand you correctly, what would you be re-selling them for? :) If the price was right I might be interested in getting a N810. tx

I don't know if I only have to pay $50 a peice I could sell them for real cheap and still double my money. I will have to order them in a week or so and then see if they all work. I would think most of them prob just need a reflash.

Edit: If I could get some people who would by one of them off me I would do It and sell them at my price just to get me an extra

some profiteer has 14 getting ready to ship.

He won't be getting any business from me since now, $156 is my baseline point for an N800. Whoever he is he will not make a dime on me and hopefully anyone else here.

keep a look out of someone on here with 14 for sale lol

I went nuts for like 10 minutes looking for the ADD TO CART button til I finally refreshed and saw there were none left :(

Incidentally, I just checked TigerDirect and their stock is low as well.

Item Number: N529-1086

Few Left! Will Sellout!

I'm guessing their stock just went up by 14 ;]

I got burned too. My order was processed for one that I wanted to use mostly as a media player and I got a phone call explaining that the hoarder bumped me.

Bummer :[

Damn, I feel sorry for those that missed out. :(

I'm so glad I acted fast with little hesatation before someone(s) snagged up the remaining ones. It's a good thing I get off work at 4PM EST. FedEx says mine has been "picked up" and "arrived at FedEx location" in IL. I wonder when it will be delivered?

So ... one for OS 2008, one for OS 2007 and "experimenting" with. Now I'm wondering if two N800s can communicate with each other via Bluetooth or WiFi (for file transfers).

Meh, I'm glad I'm a grad student, so I get to leave itT up and pay attention about every 15 minutes if I feel like it. Flip side is not getting off work, ever; I just have a sliding scale of behindness and urgency.

They said shipping was 2-3 days... :D

BT file transfers are no sweat; OBEX like to a phone. Getting an actual ad-hoc wifi network, or BT PAN, to allow games and such is a little less out-of-box, but should be easy enough...

Thanks Benson.

I currently work for a major wireless Telcom (almost have my B.S. in physics) and assist people nearly everyday with their Bluetooth connections (phone to headsets, cars, other phones), but my N800 is the only device I've ever had with Bluetooth. I plan on getting a better phone soon with Bluetooth and EVDO. Now I'll have an extra reason to get one. ;)

Well we don't know for sure that someone bought all 13 or some other unreasonable quantity, but the sons-a-guns should have enforced a limit of 2 per buyer if that was the case. Oh well...

Benson

Before it went down, it had a phone number, and said to call for volume pricing if you were ordering more than five. I actually thought about it; I've got enough immediate family members who could make use of them, and I bet I coulda got partially reimbursed if I'd asked, even after the fact.

Maybe you should just have an RSS reader and be faster...

The person that called me explained that is *exactly* what happened. Someone bought 14 at once.

They did offer an even better deal for buying 5 or more so they were not exactly discouraging mass purchases. I was seriously considering buying a bunch for friends that I know are interested in them knowing that they would be too slow to catch the deal but would want one eventually :]

No big deal. I still have my N810.

I pretty much check the board all day, but today happened to be especially busy at work, so I didn't get to check til later. Anyway, I suppose I used up my "special deal" genie wishes for the week when I found my local Staples selling a brand new Acer Aspire 7720-6569 laptop for $479 last Saturday, and thankfully I snapped that one up without delay...they're still selling for close to $800 elsewhere online.

If anyone's interested, an epilog to the Expansys blowout, it appears that Expansys is still sitting on at least 20 more N800's and are selling them for $225 + $10 shipping on ebay as "B-stock"

http://stores.ebay.com/Expansys-USA-Wireless-Store

Gotta wonder if they're sitting on any more of them, or if these on ebay don't sell, if they might blow them out for $156 again.

Benson
05-21-2008, 10:31 AM
Interesting; I'm not sure they would go that low, seeing how fast they went last time; I wouldn't anyway. :D

And it's possible they are the same ones, but they forgot to delist...

Man, hate beating the ol' dead horse, but the ebay stock went down to 17 on these over the past couple days. But today, the 10 day clock reset on the rest, and when they relisted them, they went back up to 20...so yea, they still got more.

Incidentally, these ones on ebay are so-called "B-stock" which they claim are units that were returned or refurbished. So to the folks who did get one for $156, did yours look like it was regifted? :)

I ask because I'm consdering buying a 2nd N800 from this ebay stock but I don't want one that's nice and pre-scratched.

The box was unsealed, but the tablet was like new, literally. I don't know if it was a refurb, or really new, but it sure looked and felt new. Oh, and it came with a note inside, from Nokia, something to the effect that they were unable to repair the device, so they replaced it... I just don't know whether they replace with refurbs or new.

Oh, and I'm not sure $225 is all that hot a deal on those; I guess if you want to make sure you get one, you take it while they're available, but I think lurking could probably get you some cheaper.

OSEmuTech

I got the same note and the seal on the box was broken. But so far so great!

I haven't powered mine on yet; but I was pretty sure it would be. (It's a gift; I'm gonna help my sister set it up, but she won't be back in the US for a couple months, so I hope to flash it with production Diablo.)

Thanks for the confirmation, OSEmu!

Ok so the strangest thing happened this morning. UPS left a brand new N800 on my doorstep.

When TigerDirect was on the brink of running out, I placed an order for my 2nd N800 along with a motherboard, CPU fan and some memory for another project. The order showed up minus the N800, along with the packing slip that said the N800 was on backorder. Yet mere hours after I tried to place the order, their website had that aweful message saying the item was no longer available.

Like the Expansys deal, I thought I had missed my chance at TigerDirect as well. I guess my order had gone through just in time, and even though it looked like I was screwed, the N800 shipped.

I was considering buying one from the Expansys ebay store as I mentioned before, but was a little reluctant to pay $225 for B-stock - plus I was hoping they'd have another blowout sale. But hey I'm happy with this too!

Edit: As of this post, the Expansys ebay store is down to 4 units from 20 last week. No idea if they will put any more up after these. http://stores.ebay.com/Expansys-USA-Wireless-Store
