Two things,

First, although "Find all posts who thanked <user>" is a bit more clear than it was previously, it still doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I don't know of any posts who can thank users. :p It should be changed to something like "Find all posts <user> was thanked for" or "Find all of <user>'s posts that were thanked".

Second, I find it useful to go to my profile every so often, but there's not a reliable link for that anywhere on the forums. Would it be possible to turn the "Welcome, <user>." up in the upper right hand corner next to the PM information into a profile link?

Seconded. That definitely would be helpful. But, GA, is the link (http://www.internettablettalk.com/forums/member.php?u=1121) at the bottom of the Forums page (http://www.internettablettalk.com/forums/) not reliable for you?

Hrm, hadn't thought of that one. Still, my request stands. The one at the bottom moves around too much. :p

The one at the bottom moves around too much.

When I'm logged in, I find that the link to my own profile is always the first in that list.

Of course, none of this is to disagree with your sound suggestion that "Welcome, <user>" should replace "<user>" with a profile link.

I meant only that the bottom of the pages moves all over the place with these variable-length pages. :D

Forgot the smiley. ;) :p

GA, first request done.

For the second, there's a My Profile link under 'Quick Links'.

"Find all posts <user> was thanked for"

"Find all posts for which <user> was thanked" would avoid ending with a preposition.

How about:

Find all posts where <user> was thanked?

A letter can absolutely thank someone, as a wanted poster can offer a reward for your capture. A post is of course not a 'who', but a 'that'.
Forget about mangling sentences to.avoid ending them with a preposition. That is something, 'up with which I will not put'.

"Find all posts <user> was thanked for" doesn't appear mangled to you?

That is something, 'up with which I will not put'.

Certainly, ending a sentence with a preposition is not always incorrect. Winston Churchill was quite right in that. However, this instance appeared awkward.

And, of course, "A witty saying proves nothing."

Since we're on about xkcd, anyone else get cyborg.py running?

I commented figlet for the moment; I'm sure it's available, or if not, should be a simple compile; but I'll mess with that later. I can always chroot /mnt/initfs/ text2screen -s 10 -t Whatever if I want big text.

I'm trying to roust up gpspipe; I can't even compile it from source yet, because in Diablo, libc-dev is older than libc... still working on that.

Update: In Chinook, I can build gpspipe... and it works!! (With built-in gpsd.) Can't say whether it actually works yet, I gotta take it back to Diablo, and go outside. Once I get this working, I'll quit hijacking this, and make a new thread with most of gpsd-clients, and cyborg.py.

Update: Wrong libgps version (17, need 15 for maemo); anyone know what upstream gpsd version matches osso-gpsd 1.0-29?

Edit: Found the upstream... https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2877 says it's gpsd 2.32...
