OS 2006 and Bluetooth

OK, this may be a bit of a rant, or perhaps a request, but I will phrase it as a question.

Is Bluetooth going to work properly in the 2006 OS?

In other words, is OBEX server going to be integrated?

I want to be able to recieve OBEX transfers (contacts, etc.) from other BT devices.

I also want to be able to just right click files on my desktop (Nautilus) and select send, like I can with most other devices that support BT.

Being able to select an item in the 770 file manager, and send it via BT, with out calling eveything a "Phone" and going though the "Change Phone" stuff would be nice too.

My answer to everything is "Don't know" and I'm sure everyone's in the same boat. If you look at the screenshots for Mistral, it looks like the connectivity icons have been conglomerated into one. (Great for people without a cell who don't like that extra icon (ex: me)). Mayhaps additional connectivity options have been included. I can't see them skipping that... but I'd believe it if they did.

Hello, I am not going to dream that Bluetooth will work better or it will get worse with the 2006 OS Update. I will say this though, as long as Bluetooth is implemented the way it is now, it is not going to get too much better.

Bluetooth essentially is a telecommunications industry specification that is very minimal and rather anemic Wireless Transmission technology. It has rather weak security implementation as well as poor connection quality. So with regards to the 2006 Os update I will say that it will remain the same more or less. Surely the Bluetooth range is not going to get better then 20 feet at most as it now is. :rolleyes: :cool: :rolleyes:

i have problem with bluetooth on OS 2006.
it's working when trying to find phone, but when i try use 'pand -Q10' or anything with pand on xTerm - i have this error:
Failed to open control socket: Protocol not supported
