I wrote a python app for the 770 to display the output of antiword. Useful for reading simple MS docs. It is a .deb file so as long as python is installed it should work.

Ok, I installed Python and Anti-Word. But for every doc I try to open, it tells me that it cannot open the file. Any ideas?

Antiword interprets basic word docs and does a good job but not all.
Try this file, I tested that and works just fine. If not let me know, somthing else may have gone wrong.
