I use the "videocamera" application for my n800, and i'm sick of guessing which video is which. Is there a way in canola, or just in my n800(os2008) to apply a thumbnail to the video that I recorded?

Dg: works the same way. Canola tuning is now a integrated plugin. If you use it, you can choose the frame you want as thumbnail... There's no difference.
Just make sure that canola is finding them (media folders) and you can go to your video playback screen and choose frame for each video (or on settings - media library - covers and thumbnails - and make all at once,

ok, I've tried both ways of updating the thumbnail.(Settings, update thumbnails, and actually playing the video and then clicking on the button in the corner then clicking update thumbnails.) neither work.

DG : what format the application from n800 saveS? do you know? maybe mplayer is not being used for that format thus we are not able to do the thumbnail..
can you send me the name of the app / or a small test video? then we can debug / kill the bug and fix this situation...
