I tried upgrading my 770 to the new 2006 beta firmware. For some reason it failed. Now when I try to flash my device, the flasher gives the output:
Unsupported board (id = 0x0000)
Anyone know how to fix this? I think I bricked my 770...

Mike-
Try using flasher-2.0. Worked for me.
Brad.
PS look here downloads (http://maemo.org/downloads/d3.php)

I'm not running OSX, but check this blog (http://www.dillernet.com/apple/) out. There is a posting about using OSX. Looks like it's command line only.

Is it possible to use flasher-2.0 to reflash OS 2006 or OS 2005?

Same thing happened to me (http://www.internettablettalk.com/forums/showthread.php?p=15532#post15532)...I'm also on OSX, so maybe it's a bug in the OSX flasher. I'll try on a Windows box tomorrow, but I don't have access to a Linux box for a few days. If anybody's bricked theirs and manages to recover it with the Linux flasher, I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks for the info. I tried everything, including the new flasher and everything listed in the blog, and I still get the unsupported board error. I think I just bricked my 770. I guess I'll have to send it to Nokia to get fixed. Damn...

Under Debian Sarge, it worked for me. I went from 2006 to 2005 and back to 2006.
Sorry.
Brad.
Just to clarify: The documentation says, in part:
"The Internet Tablet 2006 OS Beta image is also available for download. Please note that this image can only be flashed by the newest Linux Flasher . The Windows flasher does not support this image. "
Just because you can flash 2006 with Windows or an older version (or at least try and flash) doesn't mean you can reflash or downgrade.

I had the same problem after using the Mac OS X flasher with the beta-image. But I can fortunately confirm, that after re-flashing it on a linux box with the new flasher-2.0, everything is working fine again. If you just have a Windows box around, something like Knoppix (www.knoppix.org) will do fine.
Off to trying SE2006 now.

I used the Maemo Live CD to get linux running and then used the flasher 2.0. Everything worked just fine. Thanks for the help.

New flasher (2.0+) tries to read certain information from the device. If you tried to install new version of software, you overwrote the bootloaders and these would not return information understood by old flasher. Do use new flasher and you should be fine.

Thanks for the advice, everybody. Used an Ubuntu virtual machine to reflash with the 2.0 flasher and everything worked great...I'm currently typing this on the virtual thumbboard.

I get the same error too. Unsupported board (id = 0x0000). I use Mac OS X. I don't have access to Windows or Linux. Is there anything I can do? My 770 boots fine and seems to work, everything except I get _no connections_. Ugh.
