Hey all,

adblock plus is something essential for me, and many of you i believe, so i guess there will be alot more people yearning to get it working.

installing isn't a problem, but, adding filters is a problem.

after adding the sites into the filter list, it appears that once you close microb and relaunch it again, everything in the filter list goes missing!

anyone could help?

thanks alot in advance!

any progress on this?

Have you (or anyone else) been able to reproduce this problem?

It is not officially available for Diablo however I can personally affirm the Chinook version works on Diablo. It is available on browser-extras.garage.maemo.org (http://browser-extras.garage.maemo.org/news/5/)

I'm having the same issues on my Diablo installation. ABP and FlashBlock don't actually seem to be working. There is no ABP icon in my browser like there is when I go back to the Chinook install I have on SD. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted microB several times, nothing.

I'm hesitant to clone the new Diablo install I have over to my SD card until I have it working just the way I want it (which includes ABP!).

There's one small trick: if tthe icon doesn't show up, go to chrome://adblockplus/content/config.html and you can configure it.

Ive got Adblock plus, Flashblock and greasemonkey installed, they show up in the components list but dont "trig". If doesnt seems to work to just uninstall and install them, does anyone know if there is any file that stores settings that could be smart to remove after an uninstall to make sure EVERYTHING is wiped out?? like the chrome file or somethng?

All personal browser settings and extensions are in '.mozilla/' and '.browser' in your home folder. You better disable the browser daemon temporarily when you delete them else some things might be restored (see the wiki)

miind,
I'm curious if this suggestion of uninstall/reinstall worked, because I'm in what sounds like an identical pickle...

ABP symbol doesn't show up and I can't access chrome://adblockplus/content/config.html
It just seems to be perpetually "loading".

same here: not working. config loads infinitely...and nothing happens.
i should not have upgraded to diablo, so much stuff is broken.

the reinstall of the extensions didnt work. I dont get any of them to work. Could this be related to the diablo upgrade and that I did a complete backup and re-install? maybe this caused the tablet to overwrite some of the browser settings with the old ones.. dunno but I am starting to think about re-flash and not restore any backup.

Here it did not.

Here is what I did:

1) Closed MicroB.
2) Renamed the earlier mentioned dirs.
3) Removed all packages related to MicroB browser plugins.
4) Installed $extension (first being ABP).
5) Started MicroB, closed MicroB.
6) Verified $extension (first being ABP) worked.
7) Go to stage 4 till 6 with a different extension.

It is believed the Spellchecker extension is the culprit. Right now, I only have Flashblock and AdBlock extensions installed, and I won't touch it further.

However I did use the old MicroB directory to move some settings around to the new folder. Before you do this you really need to know what you're doing though.

Note that the extensions are called -webaddon in the package list e.g. adblock-plus-webaddon or flashblock-webaddon; not -extension.

Good luck!

here's what I did to get mine working:
1. clicked the little magnifying glass in the bottom right corner of the web browser
2. clicked on components, disabled everything
3. restarted web browser
4. went to a website with an ad. maybe it just doesnt show up on the homepage? or maybe it just takes a few seconds to show up.

then the little red corner finally showed up. SWEET.

Same problem does not work on my N810.

I installed, removed, reinstalled, nothing helps.

the general suggestion by MassIV to:
1. disable the adblock plus component (Tools > Components...)
2. reboot the browser
3. reenable it
4. reboot again
worked for me.
I was then able to click on the little red ABP in the corner and access the chrome://adblockplus/content/config.html to select the filters etc.
