The application list for 2006 is steadily growing indeed, but until now none of the office applications (more spcifically Abiword an Gnumeric) have been ported. Is there a particular reason for this oversight?

I am worried of office apps too. I can't update to 2006 OS until gnumeric is ported. But Abiword in 770 needs doc-support to be usefull for me and it doesn't have it in 2005 OS anyways.

I'm not that worried about .doc support, but more about .odt support. Until then, I can make do with the copy of Abiword on my desktop.

Sad thing is that most of the work related documents I got from email or company web-site are .doc:s. Even when txt is enough.

I make it a habit of sending back documents in proprietary formats, with a polite note as to the why.
Obviously, it's a lot easier to do this when you're not depending on the senders for your livelihood, but rather the other way around. :)

again: anyone has some news about Gnumeric port to OS2006? It's the only reason that keep me away from upgrading!

thx Aflegg, I was digging into scratchbox in order to work it out myself but the task is a little too hard for me! I think I'll wait next week (and make a donation to Etrunko if he does it and appends a paypal button to his blog!)

Are there any news about gnumeric?
Gnumeric is the program I use the most on my 770. So I canīt update to the new os until it works on 2006.
Iīm really looking forward to test the new os.
Any news appreciated.
Thanks :D
