Are there any applications or accessories that can make the N800 faster? I got Privoxy, and I think it helped a little, but of course, more speed is always desirable.

Also, is it true that the internal SD card is used as RAM? Do I have to adjust any of the settings to make it do that?

It can optionally be used as virtual memory, yes.

Do I have to adjust any of the settings to make it do that?

Open the Application menu.
Open the "Settings" sub-menu.
Tap "Control panel". The Control panel will load.
In the "General" section, double-tap "Memory".
In the "Memory" window that opens, tap the "Virtual" tab.
Tap the "Extend virtual memory" box to place a tick in it.
In the "Size" drop down list, select how much of your tablet's internal memory card should be dedicated to virtual memory. The maximum of 128 MB is generally recommended.
Tap the "OK" button.
Close the Control panel.

you can set your CPU to 'performance' mode. this will drain your battery faster, but if speed is your top priority, you should give it a try.

as root (http://wiki.maemo.org/Root_access), type the following in xterm:
echo performance >/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor

to go back to the default setting:
echo ondemand >/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor

and for web browsing, you can try the webkit engine (http://www.internettablettalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25752) for microb.

Pronvit's port of webkit for the web browser has really improved my N810's feel. It isn't quite finished yet, but certainly usable.
