Hello,

I've got a 770 and a Mac Mini running OS X 10.4. I'm trying to set up a wireless ad-hoc network with Internet sharing enabled so that I can access the Internet at home without using a formal wireless router. The 770 can successfully connect to the ad-hoc network, but Opera cannot access any web pages using that network. I can connect to any standard wi-fi connections with the 770 to surf the web without any trouble. Any ideas on what settings I may have missed on either the Mac or the 770?

Thanks in Advance.
Brian.

Well not sure how a Mac works with internet sharing, but if you don't have dhcp server running somewhere, I'm assuming you need to put an IP address into the 770.

It looks like you are not getting DNS service. Try the following: since the 770 is connecting, go to Connection Manager, pull down the IP address details and see if you have DNS addresses--most likely not since all the Mac is doing is providing a connect, not a DHCP service.

If you have blanks where DNS should be, go to the Connectivity Settings and type some in (look on your Mac for those).

Hope this helps.
