I just bought an N810 about a week ago and I'm trying to install USBcontrol so that I can use a memory stick with it. I have updated the firmware to the latest version and tried to download USBcontrol from maemo.org but I get the following error message:

Unable to install usbcontrol.
Incompatible application package.

So, I went to the home page of the developer and downloaded it from there but when I try to install it I get another error message:

Unable to install usbcontrol.
Some application packages required for the installation are missing.

When I check the details of the above dialog box, I get the following:

Unable to install usbcontrol
Application packages missing: python2.5-runtime

However, I cannot figure out how to install the python2.5-runtime package. It does not appear in any of my catalogs. I have searched the Internet and this site but I have not found a solution that works. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks,

Mark

Enable chinook extras in your app manager repositories.

With the following cable no cable adapters are required and the tablet automaticall switches to host without any additional software.

Cable - microUSB to Female USB A. Automaticaly sets the USB to OTG.

Fragos,
with this cable you can uninstall usb-control?
if so , if you plug in a usb drive it will show up right away?
what do you need to do to remove it? just unplug it?
thanks

When removing a USB drive you tap the USB icon and tell it to unmount. All waiting write buffers will be flushed and you can safely unpluged the storage.
