There, Upon The Wall
Look, Three Connected Pictures
A Haiku Triptych

Birds sing in lush trees
Children play in green meadows
But we wait and chafe

Still air hangs heavy
The hazy landscape shimmers
No Fremantle wind

Seasons pass us by
Xephyr is lime green, charcoal
But still no hardware

(my apologies
I edited many times
Correcting errors)

I am ignorant.

spirit of haiku
not syllable count
is what matters most.
programmers prefer precise rules
over spirit.
this is not haiku
but it can be fun.
this is not haiku.
haiku
does not compute.

A lot of great haikus. Just a note though, haikus are not just just 3 lines with 5,7,5 syllables. It should appeal to the senses. A haiku should paint an image while you are reading it. If you want it more strict, it should hint about the season, so mention something about nature.

Now let's see more haikus with a lot more imagery! :D

Shouldn't a haiku
be Japanese syllables?
I just write faikus. :p

(Seriously, I think I may have ever composed one proper English haiku. Since real poetry is, oddly enough, hard work, I just throw out half 90% of the rules and have fun instead.)

This haiku is so silky, romantic, tactile, lush, downright spousal. I loved it.
