N770 accessory tips

As most of you know finding accessorie specifically for th en770 is next to impossible. But I did find a few things out.

The 770 is roughly the same size as a Sony PSP. There are a buch of bags and cases for the PSP, just don't get the kind with rounded ends. I got a WaterField PSP Mini Gear Pouch http://www.sfbags.com/products/psp/psp.htm It's perfect for just putting in your bag or pocket. No real room for much else but they do sell a bigger version.

Even at CompUSA where I bought the 770, they didn't sell a car adapter or extra batteries. Well, at the Cingular store I did find a DC-4 car adapter in the discount bin for $10. Works great. Now I can enjoy the 770 using it as a GPS with maemo mapper and not drain the batteries in an hour.

Speaking of GPS, as one poster noted, the Rikaline 32 channel gps unit works fasntastic with it.

I use a AC-1U-WH charger when I travel but it has the larger standard plug. I found at a cell phone kiosk, of all places in a Walmart, a Nokia CA-44 for $10. Big plug to small plug adapter.

My next quest is a BP-5L battery and a screen protector that doesn't fel like a cheap window magnet.

I'm not sure if it qualifies as an 'accessory", but I've got a pair (two, actually) of "hidden Cargo" pants from Scott eVest (http://www.scottevest.com/v3_store/hiddencargopants.shtml). The 770 fits nicely in the extra-deep 'hidden' pockets, and is protected from keys/change/pocketknife/iPod/cell phone whatever (seriously - these things have LOTS of pockets). They are really comfortable, and you barely notice the 770 (and all the rest) - and no one else will, either. The downsides are price, and don't even think about digging it out while driving. I may try one of their jackets next.

Oh - I forgot to add that the pants (and a couple other things they make) come in tall sizes, too. It's tough to find that in 'normal' clothes, let alone really cool stuff.

For pouche I use one from Gameboy DS Lite is the exact same size as the Nokia 770 and the Pouches fit exactle and perfect..

The one I have is a bit different mine came with a screen cleaner (Cloth) that comes with a separte bag that is attached to the puche.

I just got home from a shopping trip for a car power adapter for my 770.

Best price I found (out of the TWO places that had adapters with the right tips) was at Target for $9 in their Automotive isle they have a adapter for all Nokia phones.

I also picked up a 1 socket to 3 socket cig lighter adapter and a cassette adapter that I think should work to provide me with audio.

PS Dont let the cellphone store monkeys mess with your 770, I nearly had a disaster when one grabbed it, stuck a generic power adapter in the HEADPHONE jack and tried to power it up.
