So far I've done some quick browsing. I use clipperz so I probably won't be giving a full indepth look.
So far I've noticed two things
Canceling a "Save As" reports a "Save Failed" notifcation (export doesn't give this error)
There is no indication of how Export is different from Save As.

a real good touchscreen in the future might have fingerprint analyses for security.

Added some new bugs against Password Safe in N900.
https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5507
https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5508
There is also some other problems in there. When I add new password, name field is automatically selected and I must remove 'new' text manually.
And also one security related issue but I don't know yet if it's a problem with Password Safe or the whole platform. When I type password in password field it's automatically added in auto competition database. Please see bug https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5419 for more information.

this shouldn't happen as I set the input mode to HILDON_GTK_INPUT_MODE_FULL (without DICTIONNARY) with hildon_gtk_entry_set_input_mode ...

it's gone in 1.5.5c too
for the row collapsing I'll have to take a look at bugzilla to see if it is a know problem in hildon tree view ... or if I don't use it the right way
More testing and more bugs :-)
Path to password file might look bit unfriendly for the new comers. https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5531
And when user cancels new password file save Password Safe crashes. https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5533
And one feature request for localization support as I like to use software in my local language. https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5532
Generally this is looking good for ordinary users and almost ready for Extars.
this shouldn't happen as I set the input mode to HILDON_GTK_INPUT_MODE_FULL (without DICTIONNARY) with hildon_gtk_entry_set_input_mode ...
It seems that auto completion problem is gone now in the newest versions.
Found still one more bug in N900 version 1.5.5d. File size is not correctly shown when opening the file. https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5568
Because Password Safe seems to have automatic save functionality I think that 'Save' button from the menu should be removed.

Fingerprint sensors should newer been used to protect any information which must be suecure. Look for example 'Attacking Fingerprint Sensors' in http://www.olekasper.no/articles.html site.
I could not found one later study where they used gelatin based fake fingerprint over testers own fingers and they managed to fool all current (as 2007 or 2008) fingerprint sensors. It's way too easy to get peoples fingerprints if your aren't using gloves all the time. :)

1.5.5f is out
I think I have ironed out almost all known bugs (except for the i18n but it's coming)
So let's vote ;)

I have a question:
I tried PWSafe on the emulator and i can't seem to make all buttons in the button bar to appear. The search field takes up all the space. I can't drag the divider.
Am i doing something wrong?
fredoll
10-27-2009, 09:49 AM
no you're not doing anything wrong :)
there was a bug opened about having too much button on the toolbar and the general UI guidelines tend to promote simpler UI so I left only one button (new/add) and the filter on the toolbar ...

Ah :)
Then i have some other questions:
- How do i delete and/or rename groups/folders?
- Is it possible to create folders in folders?

How do i delete and/or rename groups/folders?
Groups are virtual : it exists only if it is declared in an entry
So there is currently no way to delete or rename them except from modifying every entry in the group ...
Is it possible to create folders in folders?
for the same reason, no

Hello
I have 1.6.3c installed fine, and today got a message that 1.6.3d was available.
It fails to install though, stating it has application package missing: libhildon1 (>=2.2.10)

1.6.3d is build against PR 1.2 and is not supposed to get out of extras-devel.

I am using Windows XP. I have Password Safe on my Nokia N900. Is there a way to put Password Safe onto my PC and sync it with my N900?

You can use pwsafe for windows (http://passwordsafe.sourceforge.net/) but there is no syncing mechanism.
the files are compatible between the two platform (1.x or 2.x but not 3.x) so you can simply copy the database file one way or the other.
Hope this helps

Does anyone have any experience with using pwsafe databases with MyPassWordSafe (http://www.semanticgap.com/myps/) under Ubuntu & vice-versa? The only password manager I'd consider using is one that I can store & read on both my handheld & my desktop.

If anyone's interested, while MyPassWordSafe doesn't work (at least not with the current version of Password Safe available in Maemo) I've found that the command line tool 'pwsafe' in Ubuntu does (currently 0.2.0-3 & as far as I can tell not to be confused with Maemo's pwsafe GUI).
So I can create, read & change a database from either end & do the same on the other. Too bad there's no GUI on the desktop, but I can live with that.
HTH somebody else.

Hi, I'm using PWSafe 1.6.3d for quite some time now, and I've even noticed some bug (didn't report them though as I'm too lazy to register to TMO's Bugzilla), but something - though extremely minor - is bugging me... Why doesn't PWSafe have a 'About' option? I wanted to check PWSafe's version number so I had to start up the App manager to check it :)

I think there was one for Diablo that used the standard GTK About Dialog but it is not available anymore ...

I had been doing this for a while but now I've noticed I can open my password database on the windows passwordsafe but the same database file gives me a "Wrong Password" on both Ubuntu and Maemo pwsafe. Any ideas why? Has compatibility been broken so pwsafe is seeing a corrupt database?
Edit: I should pay more attention, so passwordsafe for windows 3.x broke compatibility?
fredoll

No idea
PwSafe for Maemo doesn't support the 3.x file format ...
Are you sure you didn't use that format on windows ?
thanks fredoll
I don't know the file format, is there a way of checking it? I'm guessing that I did because my Passwordsafe (windows) version number is 3.x so pressing save there must have changed it.
