Basically it downloads the map as a giant image file, or several of them I think. Not as useful as MaemoMapper which lets you do POI and routing but if you don't use a GPS and just want a quick or lighter solution to get a map of a city I guess this works too. :D

Thanks for the info. I gave it a shot. Cant get it to work properly. Maybe some of you should try? It is able to dl a highway maps even on a zoom level of 2, no street map. When zoomed to 1, it failed to dl...." problem with dl from google map, please try again." I stopped. I worry this will get me onto 'google' black list of dl 'too much maps'?. I think the idea is good.

bunanson: There is no zoom level 1 on Google, that's why. ;) They only go down to 2. Heck if I know why, but that's what they do.
