xterm command to re-enable virtual keyboard?

This used to work great to re-enable v-keyboard when diablo got a hangover from my use of a bluetooth keyboard, but no longer does.

gconftool-2 -t bool -s /system/osso/af/keyboard-attached false

Have I made a mistake in this command?

gconftool -t bool -s /system/osso/af/slide-open false

i'll try it, but i have n800. "slide-open false" seems out of place...

Hmm, I have an n800 too, but I haven't been using my bt keyboard much recently.
Hopefully this bump will get to the attention of someone that knows.
