how come my n900 is not here yet?

Since there was previously at least one site showing a n900 in a warehouse somewhere by 9/23, this a a preemptive thread that should last well into October at least for people that are pissed off that the n900 they pre-ordered is nowhere to be found.................yet :)

No, there is almost never a specific street date for phones and none given for the N900.

I know it's hard to stay patient, but just keep telling yourself that there are a lot of people out there working to make sure that when it finally does get into your hands, it doesn't disappoint and fail right off the bat. People testing the hardware, people working on software both inside and outside of the company and so on.

This has been my experience with anything i have ever pre-ordered. While the wait is killing me i am also not going to place an order until i see this thing is actually being shipped out :(

I have to agree. I never pre-order anything because I end up canceling it :( I ordered my new digital camera, and I paid for 1-3 day shipping, got here the 4th day and I was soooo pissed and impatient lol.

I can't wait for this device.

I preordered mine August 29th, so don't complain about waiting :P I try to work as much as possible, play Call of Duty 5, and meet my friends as often as possible.

I will survive, but I'm keeping my self up to date about the n900 and maemo every day.

And luckily im going to the Oktoberfest at least two times, because i live only 40km away from Munich :P

Blame the warehouse instead of Nokia?! If it was shipped by 9/23 just because some warehouse stated this you might have opened this thread here with "oh, the software is not ready yet and still they shipped it!!!".

I think I'd be willing to pay extra on top and sign an NDA to get my hands on it, but I've been waiting over a year for it!

I'll just ring the local Nokia store every week or so and ask if they have it yet after I hear an official released announcement. Then I'll go to the bank, whitdraw all that loose change and walk in, dump it down and walk out with a N900 :) The ONLY way to do business... cold hard cash...

Same here ... I am waiting till the damn thing starts shipping.

And from what I have heard on the street - I think it may even be November before we start seeing it delivered - which I hope is not the case. But then I may as well delay my purchase and include it as part of my Christmas shopping - sweetens the deal and keeps my wife happy.

Yes, it is going to get pretty ugly, especially if it goes deep into november. There will be at least a few 1000 word rants, a few who swear off the n900 or even everything nokia, a few who blame nokia for various world ills have nothing to do with anything.

I trust Nokia, and preordered it directly from them. I think with preorder date of Aug. 29th, ill be one of the first, who surely gets one.
