I have a question about Maemo, will Nokia license the OS to other phone manufacturers? (eg. Are we likely to see Samsung making a Maemo device? )

The guts of the OS is open source, so anyone can theoretically grab it and use it for whatever they want. There are some proprietary Nokia binaries, however, but on another device they may not be much use anyway. The name "Maemo" is also trademarked (I think) so you may not be able to use it so freely.
