I was wondering if there is any application that i can install in the N900 to track my phone (just incase if i lose it or if it gets stolen). I was googling it and i found this, http://www.gadgettrak.com/products/iphone/ but seems like its for iphone, and will not support maemo, anyway around this?

thanks for all the input in advance,

Priyank

Is there a way to access the GPS coordinate from the command line?

(cron + gps + scp or something...)

I think what you'd really want is to have a program running on the N900 that "returns SMS's" location. Then if you lost the phone, you SMS yourself and get your phones location....

That'd be nice too, even though I'd prefer to do it over a "real" network (internet) but in the SMS case you'd need to have a password set for the answer to work, so not to get spied upon... :-)

There was a user (HoX) posting plans about something like this a while back. Haven't heard anything about it since, but here is the thread (it's not very long):

It should be possible...
