View Full Version : In this thread, speculate why the n900 was delayed

It can be anything serious such as a serious memory eating bug, to something stupid like Nokia forgot to place orders at the Chinese manufacturing company. Just pointless fun and something to do until the n900 finally starts shipping.

The N900 has been ready to ship for weeks now. But they loved reading the "where the hell is the N900" threads here on t.m.o. so much, they decided to hold on to them a bit longer and see just how crazy we could get.

Someone hired a couple hundred US college girls with nice figures to go walking around in all the Nokia offices feeling on each other and laughing and giggling with strict instructions "don't let any guy talk to you, don't let any guy approach you, make as many guys feel rejected and unworthy as possible."
Then a lot of male employees went into depression and some remained angry for a long and commited violence and had a hard time concentrating on their work.
Many things are not getting done now. N900 delay was just one of them.
When the girls were surveyed about the job afterwards one question was "was it hard to do?"
Most said, "it was very easy to do, we already do that all the time in the US."
;)

But seriously didn't someone come on here and put a quote up from one of the Nokia guys that admitted that it was his fault. So can't we just ask that Nokia guy what he did that delayed it?

The N900 is fake and we've all been brainwashed and many others have been paid to say it exists and is cool... including the 300 who "got" N900's.
It's all a big fantasy. How's that for a reason?

Underpants gnomes (http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Underpants_gnomes). Step 1: Collect underpants, step 2: something with the n900, and step 3: profit.

all Nokia employees wanted to get one for themselves and their family first. so the first batch was already completely sold out.

oh, and they plan to include Dukem Nukem Forever on the N900...

^:D

... maybe not to far off though.

We have heard how Nokia has been surprised in the past with the popularity of the N800 series. We have also heard that Maemo5 was not intended as the final step in providing a consumer device to the general public... Perhaps because of no major usability complaints coming from the loaner devices, the more recent economic pressures (and opportunities) in the North American market, and Palm's less than expected dilution of Apples iPhone sales; Nokia decided that the N900 should be more aggressively promoted and this delay is in order to get sales and marketing collateral in place.

... I mean as long as we're speculating, maybe it's all good. :)

They needed to wait for the Droid to come out first so they could white out the Droid and write N900.

This years "Mobile Phone Throwing World Championships" were in Finland and the first twenty places in the competition went to finish athletes.

Clearly they must have practised with very powerful phones possibly from a local sponsor. So obviously Nokia had to meet this demand first...

Nokia outsourced the manufacturing to Ilmarinen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilmarinen). He's immortal and the Eternal Hammerer, but unfortunately his methods are bit outdated and slow.

I have a few theories:

- They were just targeting developers and techies with this device, but the blogsphere made it visible to a larger number of people. When Nokia saw the number of pre-orders they realized that if the device was not polished enough for average Joes the Nokia name was going to end up in the mud.

- A US carrier (not TMobile) offered to subsidize the N900 if it was made to support their data frequencies.

- They are stalling in order to allow for more apps and libs to be optified.

- Maemo developers want to stick to a more open source friendly release schedule: "It will be ready when it is ready." ;)

Touch screens installed upside down.

Only work by pressing really hard on the battery.

Easy, Nokia is just slow, thats a fact. I Cant even remember when the did something right(on time). But thats ok. Its one thing to be slow. But just "GO DARK"...Do nokia even planning the release circle. Give away phones for feedback a week before nokia store dates, and expecting to changes in that short period of time.

This is sick. noKIA:mad::mad::mad:
