How the hell did the HTC Hero make Internet Mobile when the N900 was on the list?! Oh well, sure there is some logic there, just not sure it's based on sound usage.

Actually I think that choosing N900 as best smartphone wasn't based on sound usage, since it's not even released yet.
Still, nice to see N900 getting love from instead of random Sony Ericsson phone.

a) Swedish-Finnish rivalry at it's best :)
b) Can we now all agree on calling the N900 a smartphone and not some marketing-name (mobil-computer..but with a design focusing on phone-size more than tablet size' )?

No problem. I know less than zero about programming and will never enough karma for any discount. My professional geekiness is aimed at something totally different (molecular biology).
Glad you liked my post anyway. No hitting the "Thanks" button required.

Sorry, but I refuse to call the N900 a smart phone. It is definitely the start of a new category in portable computing. I think mobil-computer is a more fitting description.

Maybe we could call it a "smarter phone"...

How does something that is not released or available for public consumption winning an award!?
I'm surprised the Apple Tablet did not win a prize as well...

Läsarnas val translates roughly into Readers vote, so it was chosen because that was what readers of Mobil magazine voted for.

There was not any category for tablets.

No we can't. It is MUCH more. It's a mobile computer with superbly integrated multiprotocol communication functionality.
Now the terminology of course is still a mess:
("MOCO-SIMCOF"? :D)
Or is it a Comphone perhaps? (COMpact COMputer COMmunication phone). Or 3-com :-)
Well, for me it's probably the first real Nokia Communicator ...
I suggest calling it a Comcom

you only have to compare its feature set to that of an average phone (let alone a so-called "smartphone" - i still don't believe this category even exists) and you'll see maemo isn't there yet.
even if one day the operating system reaches feature parity with smartphones, the device will still be hampered by the physical aspects of its UI (lack of physical buttons to perform certain operations).
the N900 is a smartphone as much as it is a kitchen radio or a video camera or a computer for word processing.
