Hi folks I would like to ask a few questions about things I could not figure out from videos and forums.

Wifi: my friend has an iphone, he made a photo at my friends place, then uploaded to a site. The phone automatically connected to the available wifi network and after uploading it closed the connection automatically. does n900 do this? currently on my n95 i have to select the network manually each time.

video: I would use the phone to playback videos on tv. so can it play back without lagging etc. a 90-120 min movie in good quality? so when I go to my girlfriend I'd like to take a movie on my phone, connect the device to the tv and watch it.
I am not talking about fullHD kind of films, but acceptable quality.
Yes, I saw demo videos, but they were not 2 hour movies.

documents: as I saw there are a read only option to handle word/excel files. will there be an official/unofficial program that can edit them?

any new word about file transfer trough skype? a little while ago I read that it is still not supported but it was not the final software. About video calls I dont care but file transfer is important. Maybe someone will 'hack' file transfer into the code?

these are the things I think are the most important for me to switch from my n95 8gb to n900

thanks and sorry if I may asked some already answered questions. I did my best to do the research.

If it's anything like the n810, God's statement re wifi is true enough. At least, that's what mine does. Bear in mind that if the network is protected as it should be, even your friend's iphone would be asking for a password at least... But if you set it up once in the n810, it just works next time (remembers settings and finds the right connection)

thanks smarsh

of course a protected wifi will ask for login info thats obvious. I was just curious whether access point selection and connection closing is made easier and more automatic than it is on my n95.

16million or 65536 colours does not really make the difference for me.

just want to know that i can use n900 better than my n95 8gb.
browsing (definitely better)
synchronization: google contacts, google calendar (works ok on n95, probably the same on n900)
media: what I wrote in the first post. portable media player (played on the phone watched on tv)

and what i forgot to ask:

navigation: one of the most important things! n95 is awesome. on n900 I will have to use ovi maps, since there is no alternative like garmin (yet?). Does it work good (without internet connection!!) ? i dont hear much about that.
I use navigation home and abroad a lot.
