Yet another review. Not very high-powered or well-informed, but another 'view fro the industry'.

Here is 15 reasons n900 is better than an iphone. (http://www.starryhope.com/nokia-n900/2009/15-ways-nokias-n900-is-better-than-apples-iphone-and-5-ways-its-not/)

I get the impression he rather likes it.

The N900 would be better than the iPhone if there was a keyboardless version imo :)

The N900 would be much better, when we'll finaly have it in our hands... for so long the iPhone is much better, cause you can use it.

But for real: the iPhone is the iPhone - a phone for the casual user, who downloads freaky small apps for 79cents or want to listen to music bought from iTunes and don't care about how it works...

The N900 is for real business and users who know what to do with their device and not spending hole day in downloading apps for shaving or making ties...

Don't have a hardware keyboard?
There's an app for that.

Don't have a good camera with Flash?
There's an app for that too.

In fact, there's an app for just about everything.

Is there an app that delivers it?

itll be in the installations repo when you get the unit, along with the countdown timer for when you get it.

one of my major gripes that i I have with the Iphone is the fact i am unable to turn off the 3G or bring it offline and start the WLAN. Why oh why.... This so sux!!! I'm glad I never got one!

Really?
I have that problem with Sony Ericsson too. You could never leave the SIM at home and take it on holiday as a walkman and camera.

Never had that problem with my N82 or Blackberry Bold. In fact, I used them for the first few days SIM-less just like I will with the N900 when it arrives.

I have the N82 set at 2G mode as I don't use it for browsing (part of the reason that I want the N900, but a pity I'll have no more xenon flash :( ).

Each to their own - if the n900 didnt have a keyboard, I wouldn't be buying it..

So....I'm the only one who finds a keyboard unnecessary? :P

No, not the only one. But not everyone has the same needs of a device. For example, I used the n800 but I've decided that I need a hard keyboard and that soft keyboards don't do it in the long run (I've even tried using the iPhone's keyboard for a while).

I dropped the iPod touch once I got hold of n810. A keyboard is indispensable IMHO

Maybe it's because I've always used a T9 phone (6230, 6600, N91, N95 8GB, soon to be N900) I don't feel the need for a keyboard :) Maybe I'll love it once I get it and I can type faster on a keyboard than on a T9 thingy :D

Just make the keyboard an optional attachment.

I think the critical point is that the N900 basically won this one :-)

Not sure if this has been posted already, but this video review of the N900 does a really good job of explaining the pros of the device to an average user. And the presenter's kind of hot in a slightly perky way.

i'm abit confused whether this:

6. Built-in GPS Routing Software (no extra charge)
The N900 comes with turn by turn GPS routing at no extra charge. No need to buy or download extra software. Maps and routing are provided by Nokia’s Ovi service.

is actually true?

I believe that is a mistake, but we'll find out shortly.

Imagine the horror I had to face one day, the iPhone screen stopped working. I can see everything, but it doesn't register any input. I wanted to copy all the private stuff (photos, sms, videos) before sending it off to repair but couldn't cause it was locked and iTunes wouldn't sync without the code which I have no way of entering. If only there was a way to connect an external keyboard/keypad...
