When I got the N900 from the NY store, the sales girl told me that I'd be able to use Amazon Video to watch video. But the N900 doesn't look like a compatible device.

So I'm guess if I want to watch movies, I'll have to burn copies of my DVDs. So I have 2 questions:

1 - is there a place where I can download movies?

2 - what is the perfect setting to burn DVDs for playback on the N900?

Thanks!

You mean like burning a DVD on your computer's DVD drive and then sticking it into your N900?

You must be talking about DVD ripping here.

http://www.dvddecrypter.org.uk/
http://handbrake.fr/

With these tools you can rip your DVDs into DIVX/MP3 files and playback them on your device.

1. Use DVD decrypter to copy the file stucture on your local hard drive and circumvent the copy protection
2. Use HandBrake to transcode the files on your HDD into format supported by the device. AVI or MP4 container should work fine with DIVX/XVID/h.264 video and MP3 audio.
3. Copy the files onto the device.

Hi,
for future reference a more specific summary is highly welcome. "Video" is very vague and only topped by "Need help" in my personal list. ;-)
