So my phone arrived a little earlier and I've been playing with it. Fantastic performance, no issues, not even sure where a lot of these unfounded opinions are, but I guess people must have bad phones or something, mine is running like a champ and even my iPhone user friends are jealous of it.

So anyways, one issue I've come across is accessing a website that uses SSL2. When accessing the page my browser reports back that it uses an older insecure version of the SSL protocol. I know this of course and so do the company web admins, but they have yet to update it.

So.. my delimma is how can I get the browser to allow SSL2 protocol? My N800 would allow it, it was an option I had to check in the options area of the browser, but I can't seem to find the equivalent on the N900. Any ideas?

Please don't tell me to tell my admins to update SSL, it's a very large company and it will never happen, so all smart *** comments please do not apply.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have one, so we'll have to keep waiting for someone more knowledgeable to give you a definitive answer, but in the mean time, can you browse to the url about:config and find anything there?

You could try setting security.enable_ssl2 in about:config I suppose.

No need to thank us in words, there's a button for that :)

You could try Firefox Mobile (formerly "fenec"), it's available in the repos i beleive.
Our company has a similar "problem", and the normal firefox works without a hitch.
Not an owner yet though, so i suggest you try it and let us know how it went.

Another question: Which respository is vpnc and vpnc-gui in?

Yes, I know they're not official yet, but I've used them plenty in the past and am willing to take the "risk" of installing them as I need them for my job.

Enabling ssl2 in about:config worked like a charm.

In maemo Extras. But you can always check the very-slow-to-load gronmayer maemo repositories (http://www.gronmayer.com/it/)(worth a bookmark). I got three hits.

(And remember to be a gentleman and thank bocaJ for his solution :) )
