Hi,

a question to those who already have the N900...

Is it possible to just disable all celular connectivity (GSM, 3G), but keep the wifi active?

Reason behind this question is that I`m going to use the N900 as an alarm clock (like currently my N800) and don`t want to get awake because someone calls me. But as the device receives some files over night I can`t just disable all connectivity.

I prefer to not just disable the ringtones, but really diconnect from the cellular network.

Thanks for some information
Criena

I am pretty sure I read a review that said you could but I haven't found anyway to do it.

Hmm, I have the same "problem" and entering the "offline mode" puts me offline for good, meaning no GSM, no 3G, no Wifi, no skype.
Is there a way to configure the "offline mode" ?

Well you could takee out the sim :P but doing that too much can damage it ..

Have you looked in Settings > Phone to see if you can disable the radio?

I dont have a sim installed yet so i cant open phone in settings.

Also is there a option for it if you click in the battery monitor area at the top of the screen next to the clock ? that is where you can turn on/off the webcam, the wifi, and a few other things.

fine-grained control of individual radios are not supported at the moment.
Bug logged for this already so feel free to vote to be implemented.

There should be a way to disable the radio through Terminal. Perhaps not start the initialization of it?

Finding which run level and which script exactly thats in is another story. You can find the various run levels in /etc/inittab. They correspond to /etc/rc#.d where # is the run level.

Go and vote in this poll http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=36702 and let Nokia know that their assumptions about always being connected via cellular are wrong.

Another option is to enable the "silent" profile at night (like all nokia phones, the alarms still make noise even when silent)
