I am hoping to start the site upgrade later today. The following are planned:

1. Merge the news and blog sections.
2. Upgrade the forums to the latest version.
3. Change look of the site.

If you can't access the site, please come back after a few hours, or later tonight.

Thanks.

There are a lot more things to do. The news and forum sections should be working already. Let me know if you encounter major errors.

Thanks!

One minor note, the forums no longer has a link back to the ITT front page... or am I missing it...? Was that because of the forums upgrade?

If you're using the old blue & white "default style" there is no site navigation available.

Personally I prefer this look than the new "fromBasics Dark" style as the latter seems too compact and cluttered for my liking, although it does include the site nav. Hopefully Reggie will add the site nav to the default blue/white style, or perhaps tweakl the "fromBasics Dark" style to improve usability and make it easier on the eye. Or both :)

You can change your style using the list box located at the bottom left of the forum list page.

I will turn off the white an blue theme for the mean time. Thanks for reporting it.

Oh, sweet, didn't even notice a different theme, but now it looks fresh and clean. Love it

I love it.

Thank you.

It rocks so far (not as much as the N800 tho)
lol

Personally I'm finding the new dark theme very difficult to use. Could you add different colours or shades to distinguish the header/subject details from message body (as we had on the white/blue theme)? Also in the message list it would be useful to have different shades for alternating rows. Even additional horizontal lines to break up the messages would help! Other than that, looks very nice - just needs a bit of tweaking to make posts easier to follow! :)

Yeah, I'm afraid I agree with Milhouse.

Same here. It's not so bad on the 770 with large fonts and the bright screen, but on the higher-resolution, dimmer desktop it's unreadable.

My only thing, and it might be because I don't know where to look, is missing the more button like on the front page of the old site. It made it so easy to see which posts were new since your last visit (which helped since I use 2 different pc's for this).

I think the fact that there are also more threads listed caused me to overlook that one as well. But you know, the forums are so active lately that could have easily been missed. :D

Thanks for noticing that. I added the 'more...' back in.

Hey Reggie, I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but I'm having trouble posting with the quick post option via the 770. Advanced method works fine though. Thanks.

Yes i would think that AJAX might be a problem on the 770. I will just turn it off.

Thanks.

You can try it now if it works. Thanks.

Where did the "Quick Links -> New Posts" go?

Reggie

It's on the forum toolbar, on the same level as 'Quick Links'.

Just testing the quick reply button from the 770 again. Yep, works like a charm now. Thanks Reggie. :D

Thanks for the more button back. Makes it so much easier (and time convenient) with it.

Hi,

I think this is a great site filled with thoughtful and helpful people, but
I just wonder why this site doesn't leave me signed in until I sign out. Almost every time I post to the site I have to sign in again after I finish writing. Could that be changed? The less typing, the better on this tablet. ;)

Thanks
Neil
