Windows has ActiveSync

Blackberry has Desktop Manager

Andriod...not sure what they have

What does Maemo have (as far as an environment app) to sync within Ubuntu??

For example, I would like to update the firmware on the N900 via the USB cable, what Ubuntu app do I use to do that? I would like to synchronize to Evolution, what app do I use for that? I would like to sync my Outlook contacts from a *.*pst file, within Ubuntu...how do I do that?

Any help would be appreciated.

Currently, the N900 does not support sync with ubuntu, particularly your evolution calendar. You'd have to wait for some almighty developers to come up with something...

To update the firmware on your N900 however, you can do it over the air by going to update in the app. manager.

To reflash your N900 you use a linux program called Flasher.
