View Full Version : Speakers still producing alerts with headphones in

Hi all,

Is it just me or the N900, when in general mode, still emitts alerts (ring, sms etc) when headphones are in??

All my past phones, if headphones were plugged in, all sound was directed to the headphones.

This is compounded when using an app like Panucci. Here the player won't play any sound in Silent mode, but being in General mode means any alerts are broadcast to everyone in your immediate vacinity, even while using headphones.

Am I missing something here??

Thanks.

I thought about that last night... I woke up and started the media player to hear some music. Was terrified about the thought that at 7am the alarm would go off and blast me through the roof....nothing happened, though ;)

Sorry? Maybe too early in the morning for me, but what do you mean?

Maybe too much rum for me...It's night here ;)

Translation: I was worried about the alarm timer going off in the morning and emitting sound to my headphones, but nothing happened.

I would like to have an option for redirecting sounds to the earphones. Maybe something like a checklist "Which sound should be redirected:
- Alarms
- Incoming Messages
- Incoming Call Notifications
..."

Ok.

I see this as a real problem for third party audio apps. I found this same behaviour for KMplayer too.

So one can't use these players and have the N900 in silent mode. Only the built in audio player can.

Is there not an api to use to employ this feature that the built in player uses??
