When I shutdown I see the desktop (usually with some more scrambled frames from open apps).

this ones mine, but i think we need a hack maybe to get at the startup image, its probs hidden in the part of the system nokia dont want us modding

Yes, that's used for shutdown. The startup one is probably built into the bootloader.

First create an image (probably 800 x 480 resolution). Name it "startup_nokia_logo.png" without the " (and be sure to save it as a.png!)


Then type into the terminal (it may require root since it's in the /usr directory)

mv /usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/hildon/startup_nokia_logo.png /usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/hildon/startup_nokia_logo.png.bak

mv startup_nokia_logo.png /usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/hildon/
