I had started this thread:

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=39760&highlight=186+processes

where at minimum, I had 186 processes running. I did the update this morning, which I think actually came out a while ago (at least I remember seeing it last week), but now Conky is only reporting 171 processes.

I'll monitor for the next few days but I'm wondering if battery life will improve now?

Just a heads up.

and despite this thread, you are still asking the same question?

the number of threads is no measure for battery life or energy consumption in a linux system as more then 90% of these threads are sleeping, which means they do not use any CPU or RAM cycles at all. (in case you don't do anything with your phone at the time being of your benchmarking with conky)

please don't confuse the running tasks/processes of a Microsoft Windows PC with a PC/mobile device running a Linux based OS

number of processes/threads in system isn't a directly relevant information in any modern OS (incl. windows) - most of them is blocked on some lock (i.e. not scheduled at all)
