Has anyone tried this on the N800? I had installed it on N800, I setup mweather on my desktop and was configured it without any problems. I rebooted and it started to boot back up, then the screen went white and it rebooted and over and over again. You could not boot.

The great thing about this was that I was booting from mmc when the OS was killed. I rebooted into flash and started xterm

I mounted my mmc boot partition

mount /dev/mmcblk0p2 /opt/

I then used dpkg to remove mweather

dpkg --admindir=/opt/var/lib/dpkg --root=/opt --remove mweather

rebooted into mmc, this time it booted. I then did it again to verify the mweather did actually kill my system. It did and I restored it again the same way.

BEWARE DO NOT USE MWEATHER FROM Maemo 2.0 or 2.1 on N800

This is why I am booting from MMC :-) Thanks Fanoush!!!!

I had the same issue... I switch to omweather is a nice eye candy for your dektop.

Yes I noticed this too, but I had to re-installed the firmware. I am new to the Nokia and would like the link (if available) on how to do what you mentioned with the MMC booting. I have an intermidiate understanding of the Unix/Linux system and use OS X as my main machine so I hope I can make this work.

Thanks for any info...

slconrad Try to reflesh device under Linux.
I got a same problem (not started and loop reboot when charging) by makeing apt-get upgrade...
APT found 2 new packages (1st osso-xterm ..., 2nd busybox ... sdk)
Reflash under Windows completed successfully but it not fix loop reboot. I put akku from 770, also without success. When i reflash it in Linux and without swithing on, plug power charger. Device gone to charging and, after aprox. 30 min I swich it on... Situation same as akku completly empty (but it is not true by status this akku in 770)... May be device forgot about voltage status of akku during installation some software? Can someone explane me this?

What do you mean with this?

If you mean that when you start it, it immediatelly shuts down? I had this behaviour and it does not relate battery (=akku). I also had bricked my N800 and reflashing did not work until I got a tip from maemo irc channel to use "no-lifeguard-reset" switch when reflashing. I don't know why, but this helped me, I got it working again.

 I had the same issue initially with ' omweather ' on Nokia 770. So I simply rebooted the machine, reconfigured the Weather Station and since then it works. Here I have to say that I still do not get the Weather Station of the State where I live in. I do not think that within ' omweather ', all the commonly available Weather Locations / Stations etc have been configured.

Check out these links, this should cover most of what you need, except the actual partitioning on you mmc/SD, this is just like partitioning any linux device.

Good Luck,
